Damn, is it Monday already?
What a difference a day makes! Slept like a log last night. In bed a little after 1, up a little after 8. Yesterday, my draggin' ass day, really wasn't that bad, but I was still behind the 8-ball throughout. Had that edge of hostility and paranoia that not-quite-enough sleep brings. The world is a much nicer place with those 7-or-so hours behind you.
And this is actually one of my favorite parts of my day. sitting here with that first cup of Morning Joe and writing whatever is in my head. Usually fresh from a night of sleep.
Mornings are wonderful without morning people. Ahhh, peace and quiet!
I think today is the last day of Indian Summer. Qu'el dommage. (That there is French for 'what a shame')Indian Summer is my favorite part-of-a-Season. Temps drop to the 30's and 40's, which always feels bitterly cold at first, and eventually balmy around the end of Winter when it warms up to 30's and 40's.
Jobs on Friday and Sunday. Both two-hour affairs. The Sunday gig features food(my favorite!), and is an afternoon event. Also my favorite: not too early, not too late.
This is the optimum level of busyness for me. Just enough to get me out of the house here and there, that's all I ask for.
Today needs to be an exercise day. Gotta get back on track with the workouts. Last week yielded two days- the ideal is four-which is short of the mark but at least better than no days. The weeks I have gigs seem to interfere just a bit. That's where the discipline comes in. Or rather, where the discipline should come in.
Gotta also write to my mailing list, this being a brand new month and all.
So much for short term goals. It's a beautiful sunny day out there, sort of a sun n' clouds affair. Time to refill my coffee cup and move on. Well, maybe sit and think about moving on for awhile longer. I do enjoy my lazy mornings..
As ever, thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. Sorry I don't have anything new for you to listen to, but my page on YouTube might have something you've never heard. Happy Monday to you, if that's not too much of a contradiction in terms. More later.
