    Another Peaceful Monday

CoolI haven't checked the news yet today. My morning rituals are: take meds/feed cats/fix coffee/meditation/drink coffee/turn on computer. So I've got the computer fired up and am sitting here still trying to wake up.
There was a post on Bookface from someone I know in Florida(fellow guitarist and fellow Peabody alum)celebrating his wedding anniversary. He said, "we have power, but the wind is insane". I know there are many who weren't so lucky, but am glad for this particular individual.

Feeling a slight regret over missing my 45th High School reunion this past weekend. I've been to two such reunions and had a B- time. Most of the folks I'd want to see I'm already in touch with- though you can be surprised at these events.
Back to the present. A beautiful sunny day out there, decidedly cooler than we've had.  Yesterday I gave a guitar lesson, practiced a bit, and started watching a cool Ken Burns documentary on the Civil War. Learning some new things, and re-learning some things I thought I knew.
William Lloyd Garrison I'd never heard of. John Brown, Frederick Douglas, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Beecher Stowe(satirized by National Lampoon as Harriet Beecher Meete!)I had, but learned more about them in the process.
And I didn't know that Robert E Lee was offered a position with the Union Army(which he obviously declined).
Cat on lap, soon to take over left arm. More later.
