    Another Peaceful Monday

Cool A fun time yesterday in Bloomington.  Went to a jam session. which looks like it's going to be an annual event. The best part was seeing old friends, getting caught up. I didn't feel like I played my best, but I always give it what for. With all the people to accomodate, everybody's kind of shuffled in and out. So you're not always warmed up.
There were some fine players in attendance, some bona fide monsters. Inspiring and intimidating. The best players are not always the nicest people, but in two instances they were. Very kind and gracious. Much appreciated.
It's good, as a still-practicing-to-get-better player, to know where I'm not. It stings a bit, but then clarity rarely tickles. At least you know what needs work. (Everything!)
Music news. I do have a new one up on YouTube. Actually an older one that's been sitting around on my computer for about a month. It's called Spooner's Blues.
Yesterday was the birthday of a couple fine guitarists- Jimmy Bruno and Joshua Breakstone- but also of William Archibald Spooner. Spooner was an Oxford don, a Reverend, in the first part of the 20th century, who had this habit of transposing letters within a phrase, with often humorous(or at least weird)results.. An example: the Lord is a loving shepherd/the Lord is a shoving leopard. I guess this got some pretty good laughs, as it is now called a Spoonerism.
Not a great night's sleep. Tossed and turned and went in and out of dreamland. Probably all the stimulation from yesterday, being gone all day.  But I bagged enough zees to get me through the day. Coffee helps. On my first cup now.
Anyway. That's pretty much all I can think of. Thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. More later.
