Another Peaceful Monday
This is when you really appreciate being retired. Monday morning, when you'd be ass-deep in problems by now. I remember doing meditation in the morning, and feeling nice and calm heading into work, only to have that shot to hell within minutes of arriving at the office. I'm very thankful to have had a job that enabled me to retire but I'm sure glad it's all over..
Nothing on the books as yet for this week, but I have a gig on Sunday so there will be some kind of rehearsal. It's with the Samba Llamas, at the State Fair. See the Gigs page on my website for more. This is another thing I love about retirement: having a week you can shoot a cannon through.
Yesterday was a day of sterling virtue. I got in a good hour of Cardio, and some quality time on the guitar. To my way of reasoning(!), a virtuous day is one involving exercise; and a day of sterling virtue is one in which I also practiced. Three or more consecutive days of sterling virtue and- well, I haven't gotten that far yet, but I think I'd apply for Sainthood. Can I do that?
But seriously folks. I taped a couple things that seem to work, and will probably upload them to my YouTube page. One is with a bass player who has his own channel. Mr Sunnybass. He's got all kinds of standard tunes, blues, rhythm changes going on. Fun and challenging to play with. You have to listen for his notes, for the pulse. They don't jump out at you(acoustically speaking)like a ride cymbal.
I guess that's it for this morning's blog. Time to move on to another phase of my morning: Lumosity games. Been signed up with them for a couple years now, and I have a little training package of 5 games waiting for me every day. You can even pick alternate games if you don't like their choices- which is great, as there are games I really like and others I loathe. Thanks for reading. Happy Monday to you. Ich bin outa here. More later.
