A shitty day out there today. Dark and rainy. Some folks thrive on days like today- I believe they're called pluviophiles- but I'm not among them. Tomorrow's supposed to get back to the usually steamy days of August.
This is, however, a day of regrouping. Decompressing. Recharging my batteries. However you want to put it. For the first time this week, I have nowhere to go and no one to see. And I intend to make the most of that today.
Sometimes a whole day with nothing or nobody in it is just what's needed. In my working days, Saturday was often that kinda day for me. An enclave of peace and quiet after a busy week. As long as I got my Saturday in, I was refreshed and ready to take on the next week.
Recommended listening: David Hoffman's Calmness of Spirit. It's often my wind-down music at bedtime. Dave is primarily a jazzer, but has his New Age side. The tunes are nice and very evocative in places. Almost movie music. Helps me get in that sleeping frame of mind.
That's the news fit to print on this gloomyass Friday. Thanks for reading. Happy Friday to you. More later.
