It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Yes, I'm channeling Mr Rogers this morning. Actually, from all accounts, Fred Rogers was a good guy. Someone I admire and respect.
Still waking up, but am relatively bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning. Last week wasn't so hot in that regard. Four good days and three relatively crummy ones. But I think I've got myself back on track. One redeeming quality of advancing age is that by now you know yourself pretty well. You know what works and what doesn't. You can't always fix problems instantaneously, but you can reverse them over the course of whatever.
Reading a biography of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple computers. For one thing, they had a hell of a time with that name, which was also the name of The Beatles' recording company. Apple Corporation sued the pants off them- twice! They finally worked things out, but it was 2010 before any Beatles songs were played on iTunes.
Strangely enough, Jobs and Steven Wozniak(who was the one who actually invented the Apple computer)remind me of the songwriting team of Lennon and McCartney. Better together than apart. Wozniak didn't appear to give a shit about being wealthy, and gave away much of the money he'd earned. To keep things moving forward you needed Jobs' pushiness, his abrasiveness. He wasn't a heartless individual, but he was very difficult. Brilliant but difficult.
I'm about halfway into the book. A fast read.
Music news. Well, this just might be the day I make some. Feeling good and rested today, which is most conducive to guitar playing. Anything salvageable I'll share with you on my YouTube page. As ever, thanks for reading. Happy Sunday to you! Ich bin outa here. More later.
