Wow. Almost a whole day's gone by and I haven't written my drivel du jour. My series of morning rituals got thrown off by an atypical event(haircut)so it just didn't get done. Strangely enough, in this retired period, with all the time in the world, I'm more scheduled than ever.
The big difference is that it's entirely my schedule, imposed on me by me. Much easier being your own boss. And as my own CEO, I have a set of duties to start and end the day. In between those points is largely up for grabs, but usually involves exercise and/or guitar practice.
I've been taping my practice sessions lately and they've yielded some pretty good cuts. Not all are winners of course, but some of them work--i.e. achieve the desired objective. Trying more solo guitar things for its lack of frills. Just you and the guitar. There's one newbie on YouTube, and a few others I'm thinking about.
As far as the solo guitar things, it's always been something I've done as a sideline, but might well be something to cultivate in these retired years. And it's much easier to book a onetet than a trio or quartet. Not much chance of conflicting schedules..
Actually, practicing is something I'd probably do well to do now. Thanks for reading. I'm outa here. More later.
