Another Peaceful Monday
Good morning! An iron-gray sky out there today. Nature's unsmiling face. Monday, for me, can go either way. It can be a day of sloth or a day of industry. Sloth is sounding mighty good, at least in this first, coffee-swilling part of the morning.
I decided to restrain myself this morning. There was a post up about an Evangelical minister talking to his congregation about how he's going to rid Donald Trump of witchcraft. He calls himself a Prophet(although I really think he meant p-r-o-f-i-t), and claims to have a direct line with the Holy Spirit. He's telling his congregation that the Holy Spirit spoke to him just that morning, showing him a vision of Donald Trump weeping and reading his Bible.
The first thing that came to my mind was not anything from the Holy Spirit but a Bill Murray line from the movie Groundhog Day: Morons? Your bus is leaving.
And that was the heading I put above the video of the minister and his flock.
Ended up taking it down because I didn't want to hear a bunch of nonsense from the religious right. I heard enough shit from them when I posted about John Shelby Spong..
I have nothing against religion per se, but I do have a problem with the demagoguery of these fools' pretending they're something they're not(i.e. prophets), pretending to have a direct line to God, just to stir up the masses for their own ends.
Hm. I might just go back in and repost it. We'll see...
Music News. I have a gig on December 21st at Robbie's. I got a request a couple days ago, and called the folks I usually call for these events, so we're good to go. In the meantime, I have one job late next month. And a lot of practicing to do. Trying to step that up as best I can. A good day will have about 3 hours. For a retiree, that ain't bad.
Still posting to YouTube of course, when I get a winner(or at least a non-loser). Not every practice day yields one. Sometimes nothing sounds good. Other days, everything seems to work. Go figure.
Anyway. It's a nice day here in Paradise. It's missing sunshine, but there's a refrigerator full of food and the bills are paid. Both of them. And I got a good night's sleep, which makes an overcast day much more tolerable. In the expression "life is a shit sandwich and every day is another bite. But the more bread you have, the less shit you taste. A good night's sleep is the bread on your sandwich. And there's enough bread this mornng to sufficiently mask the taste.
This is certainly enough verbiage outa me. Thanks for reading. Happy Monday to you. I'm gone. More later.
