This has been the first beautiful sunny day we've had all week. Just like last night, tossed and turned but seem to have gotten some actual sleep in there. Again, feeling functional.
Music News. A bit of knob-tweaking on the 16-track recorder in the form of a new percussion piece. Got a couple things recorded, will soon mix them and upload the final product to my Soundclick page.
I am down to no students at this time. All three bailed, for three different reasons. I don't attribute this to the quality of instruction I was giving, but rather just to life. One lost a job, another got too busy on his job, and the third had some problems to work out.
Also down to just a few gigs. Two in November and three in December. That's actually the perfect degree of busyness, at least for me. So I've got just enough to get me out of the house and preserve my tenuous connection with the musical community at large.
Can't think of anything else to add this morning. Binge-watching episodes of Dexter on Netflix. Interesting and well-made show. I enjoy the dark humor which Dexter shares with the audience like some sort of inside joke.
I think retirement is tailor-made for binges, whether they're viewing or reading binges. Done a fair amount of both in the past four years.
Well that's all the news I can come up with on this Thursday morning. Just glad it's nice and sunny again. As ever, thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. More later.
