As it turns out, first thing in the morning is today about 6 minutes until noon. Took forever to get to sleep last night, sorta awake at 9:45, out of bed at 10:30. So here I am with that first cup o'Joe..
Supposed to get a new amplifier today. Somewhat more compact than what I have now and with the same power- 50 watts. I'm in pretty good shape(at least for a geezer of 62)and can schlep my present amp just fine, but it's still a drag. I've got nothing to prove there, so a smaller, lighter amp is the ticket- especially since there always seems to be schlepping of one's equipment to some downtown location.
One of my favorite places to play was an Italian restaurant in a strip mall on the south side of town, just shy of Scheel's. There was always a close parking spot, but even if not, still a short distance to haul equipment. Naturally these gigs always seem to come to an end.The place goes belly-up, and we're back to those downtown gigs where there's no place to park.
Maybe along with the new amp I should really be lazy and get a hand cart. Why not?
I guess today's post is about being old and tired. But I still have something left in the tank. Thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. More later.
