a gloomy but well-rested Thursday
A rainy, overcast sort of day. In bed at 1:20, up at 10. A good 8 hours, and feeling less decadent getting up just a tad earlier. Yesterday was a scorcher, as was all of last week. Heat waves are not conducive to sleep or guitar practice or any of those things that make my world go 'round.
Yesterday included some good guitar practice. Even recorded some stuff, a few of which are up on YouTube.
Also read some more about Proprioception. Seems it originates in the inner ear, the Vestibular system, and also in skeletal muscles throughout the body(spindles called proprioceptors). So many routine things we do depend on this kind of awareness: walking, typing, playing a musical instrument, painting.
And lifting weights- which is something I'm due to get done today..But it still blows me away thinking of all the things we do without our eyes, which would actually get in the way.
More to do, including continuing to wake up. It's now 11:30, and I've been up for 90 minutes, but am still just a little foggy. That's a nice thing about retirement, that I can wake up at my own slow pace, and not have to be concerned with morning people, who are probably jabbering away as soon as their feet hit the floor.
Thanks for reading, whoever-you-are. Happy rainyass Thursday to you. More later.
