Happy Friday, to all those to whom it still has meaning. For me, it's just another greasy spot on the calendar. Doesn't begin or end anything in particular. Though if I'm playing a lot of gigs, it does often signify the beginning of the musician's work-week.
After a fairly steady April, with something every week, things are slowing back down. A gig in May, one in June and one in August are all that grace my calendar for the moment. And that's just fine with me.
Right now I have three students every week, and an exercise program(actually two)that I'm trying to be consistent with, which keeps me plenty busy. Gigs I'll do(usually)if someone calls, but am not real fired up about them.
Gigs are kind of a love/hate thing with me anyway. I love playing my instrument, and love making music with fellow practitioners. And I love when people are appreciative of the music, and/or of me. And I also love when other musicians come to my gigs, even if just to hang out.
But I hate the crowds and noise. Having to hassle with parking, and schlepping my stuff any more than a couple feet. And I could go on a bit, but those are most of my 'complaints'..
So. A gig a week from Friday. Maybe something on YouTube you might not have heard. Such is life on this drizzyass Friday morning. Thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. Happy Friday, if that means anything to you. More later.
