Sontag- but no Sonntagsleerung!
A nice enjoyable gig last night at All About Wine. The music was fun to play- all samba stuff- and I got to see a number of folks I don't ordinarily see. Plus meet a few I didn't. I like gigs where I know at least some of the crowd. That qualifies as social benefits, as far as I'm concerned.
Normally, social benefits, according to my unabashed dictionary, means meeting women on gigs, something that hardly ever happens but hope springs eternal. Actually, if they just flirt a little bit, that's sometimes enough--well hell, ego gratification, let's call it what it is..
Next gig is this coming Tuesday, for an hour or so, at a nursing home in Jacksonville, and then another one on Saturday, also for an hour, at a Springfield facility. It'll be a geriatric week.
I like the nursing home/assisted living gigs. They make those old folks happy for an hour or so. And they only last an hour or so.
Altruistic and selfish all in one breath. Well, that's the human animal..
This is probaby enough chatter outa me for now. Thanks as ever for reading, whoever-reads-this. Hope whoever works isn't feeling Sonntagsleerung today. That's the depression that sets in in anticipation of going back to work tomorrow.
The German language seems to contain more than a few words describing strange and/or negative introspective states of mind. Sonntagsleerung. Word of the day.
More later. Happy Sunday to you!
