It's something like 7 degrees out right now. I think the high is supposed to be 14. Tomorrow, more of the same. These first couple weeks of Winter are really a drag. Hopefully it will follow its usual pattern, and give us a week or so of reprieve. The old January thaw, before Old Man Winter hits us with another crushing blow.
Winter or not, this is still one of my favorite parts of the day. Waking up from a good night's sleep with that first cup of Morning Joe and writing this here entry. Or that there one..
Yesterday was a day of sterling virtue. Worked out with weights and got in an hour or two of guitar practice. Gonna try and force myself to go to the Fit Club tomorrow. That's where I do my Cardio stuff.
Nothing on the calendar, and I don't really want anything for at least the next couple of weeks. Last year we had a mild Winter, so it wasn't too bad getting out in December, January or February. It seemed like I worked more during the Winter months than was the case later in the year.
Fortunately, what I might get in the way of gigs is more of that Assisted Living Center stuff, where you play for an hour in the middle of the day. It still involves trudging out into the cold, but those are much more doable than a three-hour gig from 8 to 11. At least in early afternoon, it's as warm as it's going to get.
My cat is moving in on me here and doesn't seem to be taking no for an answer. Thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. Happy day after Christmas! More later.
