    Friday

CoolA fairly mellow day here in Samland. There's one new one up on my YouTube page, called Hot Hot Hottentot. It's just me playing over the background from John Scofield's composition. Haven't heard the tune yet, didn't want to be influenced by anything when I played it.
This is a virtuous day here, as I've gotten in another exercise session. Time will tell whether or not it becomes a day of sterling virtue. That is the highest attainment, and is a day of both physical exercise and guitar practice.
As far as guitar practice, still working with good old Mr. Metronome, and working on playing outside the changes. I've kinda found my own way of departing diatonic harmony, usually by means of a pivotal note or figure. In the last couple things I've posted to YouTube, I've been goofing with "harmonic ambiguities", going in and out of the tonality.
On gigs, particularly Other People's Gigs(which is usually what I'm on, since I hate booking), I try to color inside the lines. Do the job. But on my own(or my gigs)I like to go somewhat afield- all in the interest of making interesting music of course.
Almost time for Jeopardy. It's one of my Senior Citizen Daily Rituals(4:30- time for Trebek!), so I need to ring off here. Thanks for reading, whoever-reads-this. More later.
