A mellow Saturday
Back to the iron-grey cloudy days. Someone at Peabody used to refer to Baltimore skies as iron-grey on days like this. Sweltering heat, bitter cold, and a monsoon season that would rival India's.
Baltimore wasn't quite so beleaguered in the 70's, except for these weather extremes. It was a friendly city- even though like any big city, there were neighborhoods you knew to stay out of.
Still watching Dexter. Just into season 7, where his sister discovers his secret identity. So far the shit has hit the fan with those two in just the first 2 episodes, anxious to see how this plays out.
The sun is shining right now, but it still looks like a sun n' clouds affair out there. Illinois weather is some mercurial shit. 0 to 60 in a minute, and just as abruptly back to zero..
No music news to share. Some practice yesterday, but no taping. Trying to keep those fingers in good shape.
Can't think of anything else to mention. Thanksgiving is coming up, and for once I have someplace to be. One of my neighbors, and friendly musical associates, is holding forth on Turkey Day. Parties are always a pleasure over at Chez Russillo.
I've had Thanksgivings with family, with friends, and all by myself. They're best celebrated with other folks. Solitude fits better into the day following- Black Friday- when all the idiots are out shopping-and usually has pretty good TV fare for us non-participants.
This is already too much to read. Thanks for wading through, whoever-reads-this. Happy Saturday to you! More later.
